I would also recommend JB Avril's Avantages du Bonne Discipline which has the lineage of all the French infantry regiments, line and light, from the organization of the Royal Army at the beginning of the Revolution to the Bourbon Restoration. It is an excellent volume from 1824 and highly recommended.
