Allan,
According to Schwertseger’s Gesichte der KGL, he was attached to the Hanoverian Nienburg Landwehr Battalion in Lyon’s 6th Hanoverian Bde, who were at Hal.
As you might be aware, the KGL battalions in the Waterloo Campaign were understrength in men but with plenty of Officers and sergeants. The Hanoverian Landwehr had the opposite problem of plenty of men but a shortage of officers and sergeants. Wellington wanted to draft Hanoverian Landwehr into the KGL, but the Hanoverian Government would not agree to this. As a result the KGL battalions were reduced from 10 companies to six and some 200 KGL Officers and Sergeants were attached to the Hanoverian Landwehr, an average of six officers and six sergeants per battalion, which contributed to those Hanoverian Landwehr battalions steady performance at Waterloo.
