The first time I went to the Pantheon was in 1967 before many of you were even born, and subsequent visits in the 1980s and 1990s, with the last in 1996. I agree it is a massive, inspiring, and almost overwhelming place, but I went not to see all that but to hang out with Jean-Boy in the crypts, back when visitors were few and it was pretty dark there. We used to have some fascinating conversations, which grew more interesting when Lazare Carnot on one side and Victor Hugo on the other chimed in.
