This question is stimulated by my current study of the 1804 trial in which it was suggested that the conspirators were going to disguise themselves as members of the consular guard to attack Bonaparte. I am just wondering how possible that would have been, whether the consular guard was so big that strangers would pass unnoticed, and how accurate the uniform would have to be.
