Forgot the uniform part. The uniform of the Guard infantry and the two cavalry regiments changed little from 1804 onwards and the most difficult part of the uniform to obtain would have been, to my mind, the bearskins. The artillery uniform was also quite constant as were those of the gendarmerie. The most common would have been for the two infantry regiments and the Horse Grenadiers, which were quite similar to those of the line.
