Alain,
You can add Wantage to your list of parole towns, apparently
one of the French officers quartered in Wantage, Oxfordshire.
Kept his money in Coutts Bank ( an old established bank, long associated with royalty )
The Vale & Downland museam in Wantage have long cherished an
original letter from the french officer, asking Coutts in London to
send £123, to settle his unpaid bills.
