Well, Rapp simply commited a mistake, in 1823... so did Marbot, even later. We know when Dahlman was promoted to general, and there is no doubt Morland was not... if he survived he would most probably get the rank I guess.
The fact there are streets named after "general Morland" does not surprise me at all, it is but one of the legends of the battle, and it really is a detail, "confirmed", as you show, by two of the most known authors of memoirs. The only general who died from his wounds at Austerlitz was Jean-Marie-Mellon Roger-Valhubert from the 5th corps.
