That one was already claimed by the autocratic despotic tyrant kings of Europe who didn't tolerate one of the people rising above their station and threatening their 'god given' right to suppress and exploit the masses.

But you are right the men of the people should have just crawled back into their shacks and left power to the aristos and monarchs who clearly deserved it.
There is some suggestion that the colonial traitors should have been burnt at the stake instead of hung as they were rebelling against a leader appointed by God, but for some reason that didnt put off George Washington and his fellow terrorists.
