Re: Robert Parker of the 76th
In Response To: Re: Robert Parker of the 76th ()

On Google Books: "A Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Commoners of Great ..., Volume 3" By John Burke, p. 686, lists Robert Parker, son of Thomas Parker of Alkincoats, says he died Sept. 9, 1809 at Walcheren

Evidently, the Parkers were well established Lancashire gentry:

"Peter de Alcancotes held the Manor of Alkincoats in Colne in the mid 13th Century. The succession went from his son Adam, living at Alkincoats in 1311, to Adam's younger son Richard le Parker of Trawden, to Richard's son Edmund Parker, park-keeper of Radholme Laund, near Browsholme, one of the two great deer parks in the Forest of Bowland....
