Why not have a program on fiction?

While programs covering the efforts of historians of the Peninsular War would be most welcome, John makes an excellent point about the role of fiction in bringing historical events to public attention. Whatever the merits of Sharpe, Bernard Cornwell has, as John said, done everyone a great service in bringing the events of this previously-overlooked conflict to the fore - not to mention the Rifles.

In fact one of the things that often surprises me is why there are so few novels dealing with the army of the Napoleonic Wars in general. The vast bulk are naval.
