Hi Oli,

I see what you mean about the wounds perhaps being more severe - I suppose what I mean is that there were fewer 'hits'. I still find it amazing only ten men were killed in five hours of fighting.

The musicians piece is quite exciting. In addition to these three at some point on the campaign they lose a fourth musician who is mortally wounded. I think we would have to speculate what the musicians were doing. Possibly they were collecting the wounded and were caught out when Jungingen was finally evacuated. They may even have been sheltering in buildings to avoid the fighting. All we can say is they had to have been 'there' to be captured. With gagistes the 9th's band was 22 strong at the beginning of the campaign.
