The aims of the Georges conspiracy remain vague but the elaborate nature of the preparations could suggest something more complicated than an assassination was being planned. Georges was not pleading innocence, he was expecting execution (apart from anything else he had killed a police officer while being arrested) and admitted his own part quite freely while refusing to incriminate others. While his statements can't prove anything they merit being taken into consideration.
