And I would definitely not rate Smith as the best British admiral after Nelson. Collingwood was certainly a much better and reliable naval officer, as were both Cockburn and Cochrane, as well as Jervis, Pellew, and Samaurez. I suggest that you rate Smith much too highly, ignoring more capable and productive senior Royal Navy officers who were not into self-promotion as Smith was.
