Re: Prussian Brigade command
In Response To: Re: Prussian Brigade command ()

Still the Marine Divisions have no brigade organization, correct? They form the RCTs as in World War II and Korea.

1st Marine Division is comprised of Headquarters Battalion which provides command and administration for the division and is compriesed of a headquarters and service company, military police company, a communications company, and a truck company and the 1st, 5th, 7th, and 11th Marine Regiments, 1st and 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalions, 1st Tank Battalion, and 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion. The 11th Marines are artillery.

2nd Marine Division is comprised of the 2d, 6th and 8th Marine Regiments, 10th Marine Regiment (artillery), 2d Tank Battalion, 2d Reconnaissance Battalion, 2d Combat Engineer Battalion, Headquarters Battalion, 2d Assault Amphibian Battalion and 2d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion.

The Marines also have the commanding general and assistant division commander set-up.

It is interesting in the evolution of divisions and brigades and how armies try new concepts.

Sincerely

Ron
