Repetitive! I should say so!
I've never read anything that needs more editing - it really isn't relevant that NIII surrendered at Sedan in 1870, but he keeps bringing it up. However he does present all the evidence and documents, which is the important thing. He also disproves the allegation that Dupont removed the files when he was minister of war.
Like you, I wondered whether there was some history which made N pick on Dupont but if you've read the whole set you presumably haven't found anything to explain it.
