I don't see why such fuss should be made about sacred vessels - churches were looted since the French Revolution, converted into stables and so on.
You are right to point out that Cordoba was taken by assault and by that it was the "right" of the soldier to plunder the town.
Also in case I understand Titeux, - Baylen was not a capitulation but a convention.
