I would like to know if there is any work that goes into detail about the declining loyalty of the Saxon troops in the fall of 1813 that lead to the defection of the Saxon infantry division at the battle of Leipzig. It seems to me that the performance of the Saxon troops in the 2 attempts to reach Berlin was good but by the time of Leipzig Reynier didn't seem to trust them anymore and was against Ney's order to attack as Reynier had held the Saxons in reserve instead of putting them into the line.
