Example of Retired Full Pay for 1816: Officers late Royal Veteran Battalions

Lieutenants’s retired full pay for the year:

79 at £137. 5s. 0d.

58 at £118. 19s. 0d.

2 at £96. 1s. 6d.

6 at £85. 8s. 0d.

In 1817, a Lieutenant on the half pay received 4s. per day and those with 7 years standing received 6d. more.

Fothergill is shown in the official army lists until 1840 on Retired Full Pay 1st Royal Veteran Battalion. He returned to the Retired List in 1823, but not by exchange or to half pay. [an officer from half pay of another regiment was appointed to the 1st Battalion in his place]

Do not know the rate(s) of pay for retired full pay in 1840. It may be that Fothergill received one of the lesser rates if the different rates still existed then?
