Thanks. This makes for interesting reading.

Howver, I’d like to make two small points in response:

AFAIK
1) The combat in 1811 in which lancers were engaged directly against light dragoons (14th and 16th) was at Carpio not El Bodon – see my earlier post below and it is not readily apparent that the lancers distinguished themselves
2) The 15th light dragoons were not with Wellington’s army in the peninsular in 1811 so it is interesting that it is this unit that ordered lances to try them out
