How about the Polish Light horse of the Guard being disguised as the Dutch Light horse of the Guard in 1812? IIRC, the Russian cavalry had been keener to engage the latter owing to their perceived lack of facility with the lance. The overcoats were swapped and a trap successfully sprung. God knows what it did for the Red lancer's morale.
