Further to my comment on the `Atlas`; I re-read the section dealing with Spain and Portugal last night. Of the 8 pages, all but one covered the initial phases of the war, up to N`s departure. The need for compression meant that coherence was sacrificed - a problem many authors are confronted with.
The rest of the entire wars in the peninsula are `covered` on ONE PAGE.
No wonder the average Joe thinks that nothing happened.
