Why is Suchet 'iffy'? Did he enrich himself outside his authorized income or loot? I have found no evidence of such. And I gave you only examples. You can add Mortier if you like.
Based on your method here, I suggest we could add every British naval commander of the period as being greedy for loot and wealth and prize money. Admirals Cockburn and Cochrane can certainly be placed in that category for the wanton destruction in the Chesapeake in 1813-1814, as well as the British commanders who went on the Buenos Aires in search for loot and prize money. Then we can talk about the terror attack on Copenhagen in 1807...
Now, I don't believe that all British naval officers were guilty of avarice, and as I said sweeping statements are seldom correct, so instead of 'attacking' the integrity of French generals, and not just the marshals, at least do some research into the subject. Innate bias usually doesn't work.
