Bourrienne was fired in 1810.

Napoleon was in the habit of giving second chances to people who worked for him. After he would relieve a general officer, as he did Victor and Guyot, both in 1814 I believe, they appealed and were given another command. Bourrienne was given a second chance and blew that one also.

Bernadotte was certainly given a second chance and Marmont was warned when he was given his marshal's baton about some of his questionable behavior while in Illyria.

Some, such as Dupont, were not and they fully deserved not to be given another chance.
