I would suggest that if you're going to make sweeping statements on historical occurrences, it would be a good idea to give examples of such. And if you cannot support them perhaps that could lead to better discussions.

All I have seen regarding Smith is just hero-worship of one kind or another here and his accomplishments are being embellished and his failures ignored.
