Interesting. The texts of the 1844 and 1996 editions are identical, with the following exceptions:
1844: "Boucher", in Spain first "sur la brèche de Tarragone"
"Boucher frappe à coups redoublés l'ouverture latérale à la porte charretière, la jette à bas , pénètre dans la cour, d'où l'on tire à bout portant d'une galerie élevée sur lui et les siens"
1996: "Bonnet", in Spain first "sur la brèche de Lérida"
"Bonnet, avec une ardeur héroïque jette à bas cette porte, pénètre dans la cour d'où l'on tire à bout portant sur lui et les siens"
Does the introduction to the 1996 edition give any clue why it is different from the text of the 1844 edition ?
