I never trust so-called memories written years after the facts, as neuro-scientist John Coates has excellently described as "false memory" in his book "The
Hour Between Dog and Wolf" or "what is recalled from memory is what the mind believes happened rather than what actually happened."
He states that short-term memory could recall very little and that medium-to-long-term memory could recall even less.
Remember your own years as a student at university : what did you memorise from discussions in the lessons when you didn't take notes on the spot ?
