In Response To: L'affaire Bernadotte ()

I checked the time how long it took for transmission of an order of the État-Major to the Prince de Ponte-Corvo and Davout, it took about 5 hours from Napoleon's headquarters.
I assume also those despatches of those two marshalls would take the same time.
I have the strong suspicion that Bernadotte's dispatch - where he transmitted the tact that he stopped his corps were ignored or not read.
It is very strange that the Prince de Ponte-Corvo did not received a direkt order and only got copies of orders to Davout.
The distance from Hassenhausen, via Kösen, via Naumburg and then to Dornburg is also at the minimum about 18 to 20 km.
