A couple more books that I think help paint the picture of Naples/Sicily 1805-1815.
"Lord William Bentinck" Rosselli (1974) Bentinck was the English "governor" in Sicily who basically took over the government and ran it as a dictator. Gives you the true English perspective; which was complete arrogance.
"Sicily - The Insecure Base"" Gregory (1988) This text makes it abundantly clear that Sicily and Naples were two completely different peoples and cultures.
