France was a land power
After Trafalgar, that's certainly true enough. It's a real shame then that France spent all that money building ships, when they were only a land power.
And control of the Mediterranean did little or nothing overall to affect Napoleon's empire, Sicily or no Sicily.
Too bad you weren't there advising at the side of Napoleon. No doubt part of that advice would be telling him that France was ONLY a land power and to not bother trying to counter the Russo/Anglo expedition to Naples. Had he listened to your advice, Trafalgar never would have happened. I guess compared to you, Napoleon was a real dummy.
