I am glad that you are up on Berg`s commercial difficulties under N`s benign rule. To be clear, `moving their industries across the Rhine` meant (at that point) into France. At what expense I wonder?
Berg was in a state of almost open revolt in 1813, exasperated by N`s rule and the collapse of their economy.
Doesn`t sound very clever, long-term policies to me.
