I look forward to your comments on 'colonne d'attaque.'
It seems strange that Marasin would simply say that Girard was "a grand body of troops assualting the enemy" when correcting Lapene's description concerning formations, yet Marasin simply says that Girard was in 'colonnes d'attaque.'
Wouldn't that imply that the columns were in that specific formation, battalions unfolding on the center into line, particularly when correcting Lapene's description which didn't include 'colonne d'attaque'?
It still begs the question of what formtaion Girard's division was in, even if the battalions were in 'colonne d'attaque.'
Just my thoughts on the question.
