I 'm familiar with what Napoleon wrote in his will. I was speaking more about what he said at the time and shortly thereafter, when he ripped his subordinates a new one, as we say occasionally, for their actions counter to his wishes/orders. Either way, he was responsible, blunder or not, as all folks in charge of anything are responsible when their underlings go astray.
