Bernadotte was and is not a 'victim.' He is responsible for his own actions in 1806 and his performance was dismal to say the least. I don't see where making excuses for his deplorable actions helps the study of 1806 at all.
Bressonet's account is quite clear what happened and Bernadotte's failure to employ his corps on either battlefield is below the acceptable standard of how a commander is supposed to act.
