Hans-Karl:
Hohenlohe's march is mentioned in Petre's book, Napoleon's Conquest of Prussia 1806 p. 172
"Looking from the Saale up the valley leading from Dornburg to the plateau, there seem few difficulties, certainly none such as Soult had in the Rauthal. Besides, we know that Hohenlohe on the evening of the 13th went down to Dornburg with a brigade and up again, all in a few hours, apparently without any difficulty."
So, my memory failed me. It was only a brigade. And Bernadotte arrived in Dornburg at 11 am and he himself decribes the difficulties of getting to Apolda from Dornburg. If that is the case, and the I Corps only covered six miles during the day, then it began much farther from Naumburg than I assumed.
