Davout's collected correspondance is available. If he send a message to Bernadotte it ought to be there. If he just sent an ADC you would think this would be known given the allegations that have been made. All the argument seems to be based on alternative readings of a couple of ambiguous orders: if Bernadotte had ignored a direct request for assistance from Davout surely this would be the central point of the allegations?
